Hello. I'm trying to come up with a clever-sounding Latin way of conveying the idea that anger can be a good thing. So far, I've come up with "Saevitas salvat" ("Rage saves/preserves"), and I don't know that that's particularly good. Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

That seems fine to me. Catchy, too. :3

Yeah, I was going for alliteration; good suggestion, and I thank you for it. :) I was a little uncertain about "saevitas"; from what I gather, it might be a real word--it was just never common.

Hmm. "Saevitia salvat" doesn't have quite the same ring, but it's not bad. I'll keep it in mind. :)

It's in the Lewis and Short dictionary (I pasted the entry below). :\ What are the specifications for whether or not a word makes it into the OLD?

saevĭtas, ātis, f. [saevus], rage, violence, fury (late Lat.), Prud. steph. 10, 483; Firm. Math. 5, 5; Ambros. in Luc. 9, 32; id. de Spirit. Sanc. 3, 16, 117.
